Are You Hungry?

Think about your favorite meal. Do you have the image in your head? Can you smell the aroma of that meal? Can you imagine how you would place each part of that meal on your plate? Imagine that you are sitting at your dinner table with your favorite meal in front of you, with your fork in your hand, your drink in front of you and your napkin either in your lap or tucked in your shirt. I can imagine that you smell the food and almost taste that food right on your tongue. Now imagine...imagine that you can't eat your favorite food. It's right there in front of you but you can't eat it. You can't eat it because someone's life depends on you NOT eating your favorite meal.

I know that I'm not the only one that has been praying for someone or something in particular. Many of us are praying for our siblings, parents, relatives and even a friend. You pray, you pray and you pray. You wait for the results and you pray some more. Prayer does work...believe me, it does work!

But I also know that there are times when you might have to dig a little deeper in your prayers in order to get results. There will be times when you will have to skip that favorite meal, breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. You will have to skip those meals in order to put more time in prayer - talking with God. He loves the conversations; that extra time that we can give Him to just talk with Him and listen to Him. Whatever or whomever is a concern for me or you, guess what? It's also a concern for God and He will perfect it...He'll work on it for you (Psalm 138:8).

If you are willing to skip that favorite meal, or two or three for that one person; that one person or people that mean so much to you I'm sure that situation will change. Prayer changes things. I'm a firm believer in "Much prayer, much power. Little prayer, little power. No prayer, no power"! In Matthew 17:14-21 there is a story of a little boy who had a major issue. Others prayed for him and nothing happened, even Jesus' disciples prayed and that little boy's situation didn't change. Finally Jesus came and prayed and spoke over that situation and it immediately was gone. The little boy's situation changed. The reason his situation change was because prior to Jesus healing that child, he had spent a lot of time praying, talking with God and fasting. There will be some situations that we will pray about that will only change when we put in our time with Him.

The same power that Jesus had through prayer, we can have it too. He has given us the power we just need to learn how to utilize that power. Trust me, there isn't anything too hard for our God!!

How many meals are you willing to skip? Who are you praying for? Are you ready for your situation to change? How Hungry Are You??!!

Praise Your Own Pond!

Who are you praising? I'm a firm believer that you praise individuals who are deserving and who earn the praises. Praise is defined as the act of expressing approval or admiration. Everyone likes to be praised for the good things they accomplish. Whether it's a child that did good on a report card, a teen passing their driving test, that man proposing to his girlfriend, a marriage, graduation...I can go on an on. All of these things listed are worth praises. Do we praise people for the "good" that they do or do we sit and spew hate or negativity towards them? There's a saying that states, "It's a poor frog who doesn't praise its own pond", I agree. Why wouldn't you praise yourself for your own accomplishments? If you can't praise yourself for the "little" or "big" things that mean a lot to you, that means you can't genuinely praise anyone else for theirs. You have to start with yourself first. Even if it's a ...

Shake it like a Polaroid Picture

Last Christmas I was gifted with a Polaroid Camera that I requested. I use to admire the Polaroid Camera's when I was a kid; I never had one but I always wanted one. To finally have my own personal Polaroid, it was nostalgia. I started making plans for all of the candid pictures I would take with my new camera and since it was Christmas, I was looking forward to all of the instant pictures I would have on that day. I have used my Polaroid a lot since Christmas; I even had to get more film. The best part of having my Polaroid Camera is watching the picture come out and watching it develop right before my eyes. The anticipation of what the picture is going to look like; is it too dark, too light or did it develop just right? Making sure the camera's settings are correct before taking the pictures make a big difference. Sometimes the pictures can develop too dark or too light; both make it hard to see the image. Having messed up a lot of pictures due to the wrong setting can be ...

"Easy[Like Sunday Morning]"

I've been thinking about this song a lot lately and wondering what was Lionel Richie thinking when he penned this tune. Did Lionel Richie attend church on Sunday mornings?! Some of my Sunday morning's aren't easy at all. Lol! They are filled with trying to decide what to wear to church, how I'm going to do my hair, how my hair is going to turn out, if I'm going to like how I'm going to even look for church, do I want to attend the 8am or 11am service, etc.  Although some of my Sunday mornings aren't "easy", I don't allow the uneasiness to hinder me from attending church. The bible says in Hebrews 10:25 for Believers (Christians) to not skip church services and to encourage other Believers to attend church services as well. We are to surround ourselves with one another because we can uplift and empower each other. We get our teachings and motivations from listening to God's Word; listening to and applying His Word not only makes our Sunday...
