"Easy[Like Sunday Morning]"

I've been thinking about this song a lot lately and wondering what was Lionel Richie thinking when he penned this tune. Did Lionel Richie attend church on Sunday mornings?! Some of my Sunday morning's aren't easy at all. Lol! They are filled with trying to decide what to wear to church, how I'm going to do my hair, how my hair is going to turn out, if I'm going to like how I'm going to even look for church, do I want to attend the 8am or 11am service, etc.

Although some of my Sunday mornings aren't "easy", I don't allow the uneasiness to hinder me from attending church. The bible says in Hebrews 10:25 for Believers (Christians) to not skip church services and to encourage other Believers to attend church services as well. We are to surround ourselves with one another because we can uplift and empower each other. We get our teachings and motivations from listening to God's Word; listening to and applying His Word not only makes our Sunday morning's easy but our Monday through Saturday morning's easy as well.

A verse of Mr. Richie's song says, "I wanna be free to know the things I do are right. I wanna be free..." Honestly, living for Christ and applying His Word on a daily basis, we all can be free. "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Psalm 37:4) How much more free can one get? Maybe Lionel had a point; Sunday's or any day of the week can be easy as long as we put our hands in the hand of the person that can make our lives easy.

Me worrying about how my hair will look or which dress I will wear or what service I will attend on Sunday morning's shouldn't make me uneasy. I'm going to make it a point to have easy Sunday mornings...easy Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning's as well.

"That's why I'm easy...easy like Sunday morning"

Praise Your Own Pond!

Who are you praising? I'm a firm believer that you praise individuals who are deserving and who earn the praises. Praise is defined as the act of expressing approval or admiration. Everyone likes to be praised for the good things they accomplish. Whether it's a child that did good on a report card, a teen passing their driving test, that man proposing to his girlfriend, a marriage, graduation...I can go on an on. All of these things listed are worth praises. Do we praise people for the "good" that they do or do we sit and spew hate or negativity towards them? There's a saying that states, "It's a poor frog who doesn't praise its own pond", I agree. Why wouldn't you praise yourself for your own accomplishments? If you can't praise yourself for the "little" or "big" things that mean a lot to you, that means you can't genuinely praise anyone else for theirs. You have to start with yourself first. Even if it's a ...

Shake it like a Polaroid Picture

Last Christmas I was gifted with a Polaroid Camera that I requested. I use to admire the Polaroid Camera's when I was a kid; I never had one but I always wanted one. To finally have my own personal Polaroid, it was nostalgia. I started making plans for all of the candid pictures I would take with my new camera and since it was Christmas, I was looking forward to all of the instant pictures I would have on that day. I have used my Polaroid a lot since Christmas; I even had to get more film. The best part of having my Polaroid Camera is watching the picture come out and watching it develop right before my eyes. The anticipation of what the picture is going to look like; is it too dark, too light or did it develop just right? Making sure the camera's settings are correct before taking the pictures make a big difference. Sometimes the pictures can develop too dark or too light; both make it hard to see the image. Having messed up a lot of pictures due to the wrong setting can be ...
