Autism Disorder is defined as a serious development disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact [normally] with others. In my after school program I have an autistic student named Tyler. All of my students are special to me and I like each and everyone of them...most days! Lol! But, there is truly something extra special about Tyler that I have grown to love and adore. Everyday he puts a big smile on my face or we're sharing a laugh. For the past few weeks, Tyler enters the classroom in a boisterous laugh. When asked "Why are you laughing so hard" or "What are you laughing at, Tyler"? His response is usually something that happened at home the night before, something he just randomly thought about and "it made me laugh" or just plain and simple, "I don't know". He shared with me recently when I asked him about his random laughing, "Laughing is good for my soul" and he kept on laughing. Tyler's laughter is...
